El caucho es el componente principal de un neum\u00e1tico (40% de la composici\u00f3n) y se utiliza tanto en su versi\u00f3n natural como sint\u00e9tica. El caucho natural, procedente de pa\u00edses tropicales, y el sint\u00e9tico, producido sobre todo en Europa, representan m\u00e1s del 80% del peso total del neum\u00e1tico. El caucho natural aporta elasticidad, resistencia y durabilidad, y se emplea especialmente en la banda de rodadura de neum\u00e1ticos para camiones y maquinaria pesada. <\/p>

El caucho sint\u00e9tico ofrece mayor durabilidad y vida \u00fatil que el caucho natural. Estas caracter\u00edsticas se deben principalmente a su tolerancia al da\u00f1o qu\u00edmico y a la degradaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como a su resistencia a temperaturas extremas, al ozono, a la luz solar y a la intemperie.
Cuando se somete a esfuerzo, los elast\u00f3meros sint\u00e9ticos se flexionan y vuelven a su forma original. Esta propiedad es muy \u00fatil en la producci\u00f3n de neum\u00e1ticos de alto agarre y se utiliza sobre todo en neum\u00e1ticos para turismos, furgonetas y motocicletas, ya que proporciona una excelente adherencia. <\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Las sustancias de relleno representan cerca de un tercio de la composici\u00f3n del neum\u00e1tico, siendo el negro de carbono el principal componente: aporta el color negro y mejora claramente la resistencia al desgaste y a los da\u00f1os por radiaci\u00f3n UV.
La s\u00edlice, tambi\u00e9n clave en el sector, act\u00faa como relleno reforzante ofreciendo alta resistencia al desgarro y al desgaste, menor resistencia a la rodadura y mejor agarre en mojado, cualidades esenciales para las bandas de rodadura de los neum\u00e1ticos \u2018verdes\u2019.
Los plastificantes, como aceites y resinas, representan alrededor del 6% de la composici\u00f3n del neum\u00e1tico y lo hacen m\u00e1s blando y flexible, mejorando as\u00ed su tracci\u00f3n.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Los compuestos de caucho tambi\u00e9n incluyen productos qu\u00edmicos para la vulcanizaci\u00f3n (azufre, \u00f3xido de zinc, etc.) que representan un 6%, adem\u00e1s de aceleradores y agentes antienvejecimiento en torno al 2%.
El azufre es el agente vulcanizante m\u00e1s antiguo y com\u00fan gracias a su fiabilidad, flexibilidad y capacidad de control del proceso. Este componente transforma el caucho de un estado pl\u00e1stico a uno el\u00e1stico, vulcanizando los compuestos y convirtiendo el caucho natural y otros elast\u00f3meros en pol\u00edmeros reticulados. <\/p><\/div><\/div>
